Graduate Medical Education
Welcome to Graduate Medical Education
Welcome to VCU Health, a legacy of leading health care for over 175 years. We are a vibrant and dynamic community comprised of five health sciences schools — Allied Health Professions, Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing and Pharmacy — Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU, the region's only full-service children’s hospital, and VCU Massey Cancer Center, one of only two National Cancer Institute-designated Cancer Centers in Virginia. As the only academic medical center and Level I trauma center in the region, we develop the knowledge, people, processes and medicine to make healthy happen for our community and beyond.
Critical to the success of our institution is the Graduate Medical Education program. With over 750 Residents and Fellows representing 91 specialties, we are steadfastly committed to training the next generation of outstanding Physicians. We are excited to announce that our institution recently won the ACGME DeWitt C. Baldwin, Jr. award, which reconizes institutions who exemplify fostering supportive medical education environments and their delivery of patient care. Sixty institutions were invited to apply from across the nation, and after an extensive application and on-site visit, VCU Health is one of three winners.
If you are a prospective resident or fellow, or have already chosen to entrust us with your training, please use this site to learn more about our organization, programs, and commitment to excellence in health care and education. As the Graduate Medical Education office at this premier institution, we are here to help ensure your success!
