You won’t get lost in our program. Our students enjoy the small class sizes with opportunities for one-on-one mentoring. Clinical training with patients at Inova Fairfax Hospital is conducted in an observed, structured environment. Our faculty, which includes experts from around the world, focuses on evidence-based medicine and outcomes. They represent numerous specialties including organ transplantation, cardiovascular care, liver diseases, cancer, the neurosciences and trauma. In addition, our executive leadership team will instruct students on a full spectrum of quality assurance-based system management.

Opportunities to Excel

Our students and residents come from around the world, and opportunities for networking and learning from one another abound. We understand that there is a natural link between research and education. For that reason, we offer interested students the chance to participate in innovative research and to publish. These advantages paired with excellence in teaching have helped our students enter residencies in competitive fields at prestigious institutions such as Yale, Duke, Baylor and Johns Hopkins.

World-Class Teaching Facilities

As part of our educational vision, we established the Claude Moore Education Center, which features 11,000 square feet of modern space dedicated to the educational needs of our highly valued VCU students. This state-of-the-art center includes both medical and surgical simulation centers, enabling students to learn through hands-on experience. In addition, the center is proud to offer state-of-the-art information technology that allows students who travel or live outside of the region to receive a seamless medical education from anywhere in Virginia.
