Dear Colleagues-Friends,

After decades of dedicated service and now as a national leader in accreditation, Dr. Susan DiGiovanni will serve our school in a new role as associate dean for Quality Improvement and LCME Accreditation.  This role strategically positions us for our next accreditation preparation and site visit.  We are fortunate to have Susan’s talent, wisdom and experience as we undertake continuous quality improvement and strategic activities in medical education in advance of our next LCME survey.  Indeed, Susan’s leadership was fundamental to our last successful survey and with her continual guidance, we have attained a clean “bill of health” with complete LCME compliance.

During this transition, Dr. Christopher Woleben will serve as the interim senior associate dean for Medical Education and Student Affairs.  While continuing his current role as associate dean for Student Affairs, in the interim role, he will oversee operational activities of the Medical Education and Student Affairs office as we prepare for a national search.

We thank both Susan and Chris for their unwavering commitment to excellence in medical education at our medical school.

Respectfully,
