Dear Colleagues-Friends,

As we pause over the coming days to reflect on the many things we are thankful for, please know that your tireless hard work and dedication to improving lives, to training tomorrow’s workforce and to discovering new knowledge for humankind are chief among the things for which I am most grateful.

Your dedication to our noble work and to our communities, coupled with your steadfast commitment to our medical school, has been remarkable, especially throughout these past two years of unprecedented challenges.

It has been an immense pleasure and a very great privilege to serve as your dean for the past five years, and I am excited about VCU School of Medicine’s even brighter future. May you all have a safe, wonderful and happy Thanksgiving holiday with those you hold close.

With great admiration, respect and – always – gratitude,

Pter F. Buckley, M.D.; Dean, VCU School of Medicine; Executive vice President for Medical Affairs, VCU Health System
