Welcome M.D. Class of 2030
The School of Medicine’s newest cohort of students arrived on the MCV Campus on Monday, July 20 for their two-week orientation.
Excited, anxious, grateful, optimistic, speechless and ready.
These were just some of the feelings buzzing through the air as 184 incoming students marked their first day at the VCU School of Medicine.
On Monday, July 20, the M.D. Class of 2030 officially arrived at the MCV Campus to kick off their journey with Transition to Medical School, a two-week orientation that introduces them to the next chapter of their lives.
During the opening session, Chris Woleben, M.D., associate dean for admissions and School of Medicine alum, congratulated the new M1s on their acceptance to medical school. He said every class before them has felt the same mix of emotions on day one, and assured them that they are joining a network that is dedicated to their success.
“I can promise that all of you are attending a medical school that supports you. Everybody is going to be in your corner,” Woleben said. “The community that you will build here with your fellow classmates and faculty will set you up for successes beyond what you can imagine.”
