Who do I contact if I have an HR question?
Start with your HR Business Administrator or email the School of Medicine HR team at SOMHR@vcuhealth.org. If you’re unsure who to contact, we’ll direct your question to the appropriate team member.
When will I be paid?
VCU follows a regular payroll schedule for salaried and hourly employees. Visit the university payroll website for the current pay calendar.
Who should I contact if I believe there is an error in my paycheck?
First, notify your HR Administrator. If additional review is needed, HR can assist in coordinating with Payroll.
Who can help me understand my retirement options?
VCU Benefits provides retirement counseling, eligibility guidance, and educational sessions. As a first step, more information can be found on the Retirement Planning webpage.
When can I make changes to my benefits?
Benefit changes are typically allowed during open enrollment or following a qualifying life event (e.g., marriage, birth of a child). More information can be found on the HR webpage.
Can I work remotely or adjust my schedule?
Flexible Work Arrangements (FWAs) may be available depending on your role and operational needs. Discuss your request with your supervisor. HR provides guidance to ensure alignment with university policy. More information about FWA’s can be found here.

Discuss your concerns directly with your supervisor. If questions remain, HR can provide guidance on next steps.
How can I explore advancement opportunities?

Where can I access employee wellness resources?
