SOM Policy Statements for Research Administration and Management
Standard Operating Procedures
School of Medicine Office of Research Administration maintains Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to pre- and post-award research administration. These SOP are expected to be adhered to School-wide.
The expectation is that Research Administrators, Principal Investigators, and Department/Center/Institute Administration in the School of Medicine will periodically review and ensure these SOPs are followed. Departments, Centers, and Institutes are encouraged to create additional internal, department-specific guidance to accompany them as needed.
These SOPs are intended to be general so that all departments can follow them. These SOPs have been reviewed and edited by research administrators both in the SOM Office of Research Administration and in several SOM departments. SOPs are reviewed for content and clarity and updated no less than annually.
