The M1 and M2 Years
Students in the M1 and M2 years build a strong foundation in the basic and clinical sciences through Scientific Foundations of Medicine and Applied Medical Sciences. The first two years of the curriculum culminate in a dedicated period of preparation for the USMLE Step 1 exam with individualized faculty guidance. MD-PhD students in this phase are in the process of matching with a laboratory for their dissertation research through summer research rotations.
